Thursdays

Thursdays are the hardest days in my half marathon program.  Harder than the long runs by far.  Running 3 miles and then doing my lifting routine is not only hardcore… it takes a long time.

Speedwork

Today was a speedwork day. I ran 7 x 400m repeats.  My splits were:

1:40.69, 1:35.68, 1:40.78, 1:40.51, 1:42.70, 1:39.01, and 1:41.11

I felt pretty good although I didn’t run as fast as I did a couple weeks ago.  I tried to slow down slightly so I wasn’t so beat after the last repeat.

Regular Tuesday Lifting

Tuesday is my first day for lifting each week.  I was happy with my workout although I had to do my last set this evening… I ran out of time in the morning.

Long Run in the early morning

I did Saturday’s long run on Sunday instead.  For whatever reason I woke up at 4:00 and decided to do my long run (7 miles this week) at the ungodly hour of 4:30.  It went very well, and I only saw 3 cars and 1 other person.  I actually ran a bit more than 7.

This morning I ran my prescribed 4 miles and it was a hard run… sleepy and a bit worn out from yesterdays run.

My First Post
