I lifted this morning and it went pretty well. I didn’t run afterwards because I ran off to a radio promo for a free shirt… I’m a kid at heart I guess. I decided I’m going to more or less keep my lifting schedule but rearrange it so I can blaze through in super-sets with little rest. That’ll allow me to lift and run 2 – 3 easy miles on MWF and then do longer/tempo/speed-work runs on TTh. As always long runs on Saturday.
I’m so glad the weekend is upon us!

Wow, its been a long time since I posted… Since I posted last I’ve lost about 1.5 pounds (not much but the right direction anyway) and have started to get over what I guess is post-race doldrums. I was so looking forward to the 10 miler that I didn’t have much of a training plan in place for afterwards.
I’ve still been running and lifting but I haven’t felt particularly motivated. I think I’ll have to pick a race to really train up for. I’ve actually been lifting and running each day (alternating upper and lower body and doing shorter runs) but I think I’m going to change that next week.
I’ll post my schedule, and goals when I get them together. If anyone has suggestions feel free to share!
Oh and I’m (still) right at 10 pounds from where I want my weight to be! I swear that the last 10 pounds is harder than the first 50!

First let me start by saying ouch. I changed up my lifting routine and hadn’t done squats in a while. When I come back to squats after an interlude they always have an exquisitely painful way of welcoming me back.
In more optimistic news I ran 4 miles today. My first decent length run since the 10 miler. Ran for about 40 minutes. The ankle still has a small twinge but I think it is doing okay. I’m about due for a new pair of running shoes so that may be related.
I’m also quite optimistic about my WW weigh in tomorrow… will post the results when I have ‘em.

My eating well kind of went out the window Saturday night, and I didn’t regain my composure until this morning. I’ll chalk it up to the holiday and rampant availability of Reese’s (evil & wonderful) Peanut Butter Cups. I’m back on track today and hoping to be down for the week but we shall see.
I lifted weights this morning (utilizing the new schedule) and it went pretty well. I was afraid I may have lost strength for some of the lifts since its been a couple months – but I seem to be a bit stronger than before so perhaps mixing it up is working well for me.
The only problem is that this workout isn’t very conducive to supersets… I’m really having to move a lot of plates so it makes the workout a little slower.
The ankle is feeling pretty good and I’m looking forward to tomorrows run. I’m thinking an easy 4 miles sounds pretty good.

What a surprise, on the 7th of April 2 inches of snow! Checking in from my in-laws in Southern Maryland. My decision not to run until Tuesday was made easier by the unexpected 2 inches of snow. Beautiful, and although I played in it I’m not a fan of running through snow. I did 30 minutes on the elliptical which is actually a pretty good workout.
I’m doing pretty well with my eating so far, although I’ve only gotten through 2 meals at this point…

I lifted this morning and it went well. Even better my ankle seems to be doing well. I’m going to not run until Tuesday and hopefully it’ll be back to 100%.
I’m posting my new lifting routine (starting on Monday) for anyone that wants to see it.

Against my better judgement I ran about a mile and a half this morning. My ankle didn’t bother me too badly… until this afternoon. Its not as bad as it was, but definitely not feeling as good as I was yesterday. I’m hoping I’ll be able to get in a 3+ mile run early next week. I guess I’ll just have to wait and see.
My weight came down .8 pounds over the last week. It would have been more, but my activity level has been way curtailed by my ankle injury. The ankle is feeling a lot better and I actually managed to lift this morning. I’m still not sure when I’ll be able to start running again. I was hoping for tomorrow but I think that would really be pushing it.
I’m travelling to the in-laws this weekend so I’ll have to work very hard at not over eating.

I expected to be sore after the race, and that has almost completely subsided, but as an added bonus I picked up some kind of ankle injury. It was a twinge Sunday, bad Monday, and awful this morning. I took the elevator today… I NEVER do that.
After ice and keeping it up all day I’m doing a bit better this evening. I’m hoping to run a couple miles at some point this week… its not that bad because I expected to take a few days off. I thought I’d be lifting again by this time though. I may give it a try tomorrow.
