I was up another .4 pounds at WW this afternoon. Not entirely surprising, but disappointing nonetheless. I’m going to re-double my efforts, keep exercising, sticking to the program…
This morning I ran 15 minutes walked 5 and ran another 15. Whatever is wrong with my knee actually bothers me less when I run than when I walk…

I had a good Thanksgiving holiday, I hope everyone else did as well. I didn’t go quite according to plan… instead of limiting my overeating to Thanksgiving day it spilled over into Friday and Saturday. I am happy to report that I didn’t continue the downhill slide and have recovered… what are you supposed to do with all that pie? Throw it away? I think not :)
On the exercise front my knee has still been giving me trouble although I went out on a tentative run yesterday morning. Nothing fancy, about three miles with a 6 minute walk in the middle. I’m trying to take it very easily after more than a week off.
I lifted weights on Monday and again this morning. I’m doing okay getting with the program although I’ve missed more workouts than I like. I actually increased weight on several lifts Monday morning. I don’t know what WW will bring tomorrow – I guess we’ll see then.

Happy Thanksgiving to anyone that happens by this blog today! I’m not particularly worried about weight, exercise, or tracking what I eat today. I’ve lots to be thankful for this year…

My WW weigh in was on Tuesday this week since Thursday’s regular meeting is being eclipsed by Thanksgiving. I was up just .2 pounds – something I’m pretty happy with especially given my poor eating since the last meeting which included:
Half a large (and very good) Pepperoni Pizza on Thursday
Thai Pork Panang Curry (native thai spicy) on Friday
Carnitas Fajita Burrito from Chipotle on Saturday
Each of those indulgences was over 20 points on its own! Let me be clear though… if my family chooses to go to Chipotle I’m not having a salad. I’m always having the burrito! Also let me mention that I think for the first time ever I actually got the native Thai spicy when I ordered it… It was hot!
I’m thinking that my weight loss next week will be pretty high. I’m planning to eat entirely too much on Thursday, but eat normally the rest of the week.
Enough about eating – how about exercise? My knee is giving me a lot of trouble (runner’s knee?) so I’m taking a week off from running and trying not to be too depressed about it. I didn’t lift Monday because we’re trying to get Josie to sleep through the night – which pretty much means she screams for 3 hours every night… I didn’t have the gumption to lift Monday. She did okay last night, actually really well only waking up for ~20 minutes around 2:30. So I lifted this morning and it went well – I’m actually planning to increase some of the weight I’m lifting next week.

I had another run in the rain this morning. Sort of – it was so cold and rainy that I hit the treadmill this morning instead of running outside. I did 3 miles in 23:30 which I was fairly happy with. Tomorrow I’m hitting the weights again.
At WW this evening I was down 2 pounds! Only 8 pounds to goal weight. This is awesome for a couple reasons:
1. I’ve wanted to lose this excess weight for quite a while.
2. I hit lifetime at WW and then I won’t have to pay anymore. :)

Just a quick entry to say that I lifted this morning… I really didn’t feel like it – the continuing story of my life – I’m tired – but I got up anyway and did my lifting routine (which I’m posting now).
Tomorrow evening is my WW weigh-in. I’m pretty confident that I’ll have a good loss tomorrow. I’ll post as soon as I know.

I didn’t lift yesterday – Josie woke up at 3 am and I just wasn’t going to get up that early… I did however donate blood yesterday. I’ve donated fairly frequently for the past few years and I must say – I think it is more painful every time. Adding insult to injury it took forever because they have a new computerized system that reads you the questions (Do you have AIDS etc.) and doesn’t let you answer until the entire question has been read aloud. It causes a huge backup. I was scheduled to donate at 5 and they didn’t stick me until ~6:15.
I ran this morning (40 minutes, I’m not sure how far) and when I got home noticed that my shirt had blood all over it… I’m still donating! Anyway my wife has forbade me to donate blood in the near future and you know – I think I’m okay with that.
I’m lifting tomorrow – and I’ve been good about following the WW program all week so I’m hoping for a good solid loss for the week when I weigh in on Thursday.

I was very happy at weigh in last night. Down 2.8 pounds – a total of 9 pounds I’ve lost since September 27th! Possibly more exciting is that I’m only 10 pounds from my WW goal weight of 159. My actual goal is 155 but since they don’t generally like people to strip for weigh in… I’m allowing 4 pounds for my clothes – that was the average & median difference in my weighing in at home and at WW in the past.
I lifted again this morning – although I felt like going back to sleep after Josie woke up at quarter to five this morning. Oh well, 4:45 is better than 4:00. After my half hour lifting session I did a half hour of yoga. Now I have few minutes free so I’m taking the opportunity to give everyone a little update.

I did a 4 mile run this morning… it was pretty cold out about 27 degrees F. I actually had to wear a jacket and some pretty heavy gloves. I was a bit slow at 40 minutes, but I’m a little sore from lifting yesterday – I haven’t been lifting regularly since I don’t know when and I’m trying to re-establish the habit.
Today is weigh in day – and I’m expecting a pretty big loss. I’ll post my updated weight loss numbers this evening.
Tomorrow is a lifting day – what is the rule of thumb for starting habits? I think do it two weeks and it starts to become automatic?

If you’ve been following along the past couple days you know that my 3 month old has been playing havoc with my fitness. Waking up in the middle of the night makes it nigh impossible for me to get up to work out at 5:30. Lately however, she’s taken to waking up hungry around 4:00. We feed her change her put her in bed and then I’d been trying to get an hour of sleep. My new strategy is to suck it up and do without that hour. I’m gaining an hour & a half of awake time — right?
Regardless, I got up and lifted this morning. It went pretty well. I don’t have my schedule posted, but I’ll try to get it up in the near future. Two supersets of 4 lifts… 2 sets of each (did that make sense?) Total of 8 different lifts and I perform 2 sets of each lift. between the supersets I do some ab work – situps/crunches etc.
With my extra time this morning I also did some yoga – which I should really do more of…
Tomorrow is a run and tomorrow afternoon is weigh-in.
