I’ve really struggled with training for this year’s 10 miler. I’ve had a nagging knee injury, an infant daughter, a 3.5 year-old crazy man, and a wife with post-partum depression. All of this has resulted in me eating too much, running to little and not getting enough sleep.
I ran 9 miles on Sunday, and that will be my longest run in training – the race is just 1.5 weeks away. I was hoping to break last years time, but my realistic goal now is just to finish. I’m expecting to finish somewhere in the 90 – 100 minute range. A far cry from last years 80 minutes. After the race I’m going to take a couple weeks (maybe as much as a month) off from running. I’m hopeful to completely rehab my knee and other nagging aches and pains. I’ll come storming back after that…
